What are your operating hours?
We are open the following hours:
Monday through Thursday - 4 pm to 10 pm
Friday - 11 am to 10 pm
Saturday - 1 pm to 10 pm
Sunday - Bar area is open to the public only when a private event is ocurring in the events hall. Either call 618-606-8301 or follow the postings on the Swansea Improvement Association Facebook page.
Do you serve food?
The Cauldron Family Kitchen is on the property, less than 100 feet from the front door, and serves a variety of food, with food specials on certain days. The menu can be viewed on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61570821097065.
Our bar serves the typical bar snacks, and when the family kitchen is closed we serve TJ Pizza, chicken tenders, and warm soft pretzels.
Is Swansea Improvement Association open to the public?
Yes, they are open to the public. See the hours of operation in the FAQ: "What are your operating hours?"
Does the Swansea Improvement Association have a membership?
Yes, anyone can apply to be a member of the Swansea Improvement Association. There is a low-cost annual membership renewal fee. A member of the association is entitled to certain priviledges that are not available to nonmembers. Ask the bartender for a membership application, fill it out, and give it back to the bartender. The membership application will be reviewed at the montly membership meeting for a vote of acceptance or disapproval.
When and where are Membership Meetings held?
If you desire to become a member of the association, and you are accepted, the membership meetings are typically held the third Wednesday of each month, 7 pm., in the smaller events hall room at the Swansea Improvement Association. Nonmembers cannot participate in the membership meetings, unless approved by the president and the board members.
Can I rent the events hall, events room, outdoor pavilion, and lawn area?
Yes, the events hall and outdoor areas are available for rent any day of the week.
You can rent the 2,840 square foot main events hall, and/or the 513 sq. ft. events hall side room. These indoor areas are great for hosting all types of functions such as wedding receptions, birthday celebrations, family reunions, celebration of life, craft fairs, etc.
You can also rent the 1,161 sq. ft. outdoor covered pavilion with grill pit, electrical receptacles, lighting, and 8 tablesmain events hall, and the 25,515 sq. ft. lawn area. These outoor amenities are great for functions such as corporate picnics, holiday gatherings, community rummage sales, craft fairs, flea markets, mini concerts, live acoustic sessions, etc.
