Frequently Asked Questions

Yes.  The Swansea Improvement Association is open to the public.  You do not need to be a member of the association to visit the bar area for some beverages and food, to enjoy the free play pool table, to bring your luck to the adult electronic gaming room, or to rent the large events hall, smaller gathering room, or the outdoor pavilion.  See the hours of operation in the FAQ below: "What are your operating hours?"

Monday through Thursday - 4 pm to 10 pm

Friday - 11 am to 10 pm

Saturday - 1 pm to 10 pm

Sunday - The bar area and adult electronic gaming room are open to the public on Sunday only when a private event is ocurring in the large events hall, the smaller events room, or at the outdoor pavilion.  Call 618-606-8301 or follow the postings on the Swansea Improvement Association Facebook page to learn if there is an event happening on Sunday.

Yes.  The large events hall, smaller events room, and outdoor areas are available for rent any day of the week.

You can rent the 2,840 square foot main events hall, and/or the smaller 513 sq. ft. events side room.  These indoor areas are great for hosting all types of functions such as wedding receptions, birthday celebrations, family reunions, celebration of life, holiday celebrations, business meetings, business luncheons and dinners, craft fairs, community rummage sales, live accoustic entertainment, etc.

You can also rent the 27' x 43' outdoor covered pavilion that is equipped with grill pit, electrical receptacles, lighting, and tables.  The 25,515 sq. ft. lawn area is also available to rent.  These outoor areas are great for functions such as family and business picnics, holiday gatherings, lawn challenge games/sports, community rummage sales, craft fairs, flea markets, live acoustic sessions, etc.  Take a peek in the Photo Gallery tab for pictures take of the pavilion area and those who are enjoying its features.

The Cauldron Family Kitchen is on the property, less than 100 feet from the front door.  The kitchen serves a variety of food and has menu specials on certain days.  The menu and their specials can be viewed on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61570821097065.

The Swansea Improvement Association bar serves the typical bar snacks, and when the family kitchen is closed it serves TJ Pizzas, chicken tenders, and warm soft pretzels.

Yes.  Anyone can apply to be a member of the Swansea Improvement Association.  There is a low-cost annual membership fee.  A member of the association is entitled to certain priviledges that are not available to nonmembers.  Ask the bartender for a membership application, fill it out, and give it back to the bartender.  The membership application will be reviewed at the monthly membership meeting for a vote of acceptance or disapproval.

If you desire to become a member of the association, and you are accepted by the board of directors, the membership meetings are typically held the third Wednesday of each month, 7 pm., in the smaller events room at the Swansea Improvement Association.  Nonmembers cannot participate in the membership meetings unless approved by the board of directors.
